In 2017, Raymond Depardon explored Japan with what he described as an ‘amateur’ eye during a very short, one-week stay. 

Discovering a place that was unfamiliar to me, such as Hong Kong, in just a few days puts you in the position of an insatiable observer, forcing you to devour all the colours, textures and atmospheres like a light-sensitive glutton.
